Christmas is a busy time of year with many extra things to do, extra demands on your time. Your body comes under extra stress and pressure. Without realising it, you will be doing lots more physical activity which you may not be used to such as lifting heavy shopping bags, leaning over for long periods of time while wrapping presents as well as spending hours in the kitchen preparing that dinner we all love so much!
People also feel loss more keenly at this time of year and getting an extended family together can be an occasion for anxiety and friction. It can also be a difficult and emotional time for those of us who may have had bereavement or may be going through a tough time.
We have discussed what happens to the body during times of stress – it affects the nervous system. The nervous system is responsible for co-ordinating every cell, tissue, muscle, gland, organ and system in the entire body.
Who cares for the nervous system? Dr. Ben and all the team in Optimal Chiropractic do!
Make sure you don’t neglect your spinal adjustments at this time of year – it will help you to have a Happy, Healthy Christmas and New Year!
